Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight series of novels, has announced that she will write two more novels in this series. The main story has been finished for more than a decade, and her most recent book, Midnight Sun(2020), is a novel about her journey from the perspective of Twilight hero Edward.

Midnight Sun is a retelling of the Twilight Zone story showing how Edward, who has the ability to read minds, has a heart for Bella. Thirteen years ago, Midnight Sun was in the works, but the twelve chapters’ manuscript was leaked, so Meyer stopped working on it.

After the manuscript was leaked, she left a snippet on the Internet for readers to read for free but announced that she was stopping work on Midnight Sun indefinitely because continuing to work on it would, according to her mood, make James (the vampire who hunts the heroine Bella) victory instead of the Karen family behind the male protagonist Edward, which would not be in line with the plot of the main story.

Edward is a vampire with the power to read minds, but he does not have the ability to read Bella’s heart. But Bella is attracted to him, and Edward needs to overcome all the difficulties and psychological struggles to pursue love with her bravely.

Stephenie Meyer Books in Order

1. Twilight -The Twilight Saga, Book 1(2005)

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is the first novel in The Twilight Saga series. Set in a small town in Washington State, it tells the story of seventeen-year-old  Bella  Swan (later Bella Cullen), who moves to Forks, a small wet town in Washington, to live with her father, Charlie, who is the town’s sheriff.

At her new school, Bella quickly becomes friends with the other students, but she is drawn to the mystery and transcendence of the Cullen siblings. On the first day of biology class, Bella sits at the same table as Edward Cullen, but Edward seems to resent her, making Bella feel very suspicious. After a week of absence, Edward returns to school, and they formally get to know each other. This brings her into contact with an atmosphere of supernatural laws and creatures.

Although she becomes attracted to Edward Cullen, a 103-year-old vampire, their relationship is put on hold after Bella learns that Edward’s family are part of a mythical tribe who drink animal blood rather than human. Edward and his immortal siblings attempt to preserve the Masquerade, an age-old treaty among vampires and humans which states that no vampire can bite a human unless they have one of two exceptions. They must either get permission from the human or wait for an invitation.

Edward’s adoptive father, Carlisle Cullen, is a doctor working at Fox Hospital. He has a special ability to read minds but cannot read Bella’s mind; she is the only exception. Later, they fall in love, and Edward brings Bella home to introduce her to his family and Emmett, both unofficially adopted children of the Cullens.

During a family fun baseball game, they encounter a trio of vampire hunters – James, Victoria, and Laurent – who have just arrived in Forks, putting Edward and Bella’s relationship in danger… Edward’s fierce protectiveness of Bella as a human immediately attracts the attention of James, who has incredible vampire hunting instincts, prompting him to hunt Bella as a pastime.

Edward and the rest of the Cullens risk their lives to protect Bella, but James still pursues her to Phoenix, Arizona. James uses the voice of Bella’s mother to lure Bella into his hunting trap. James attacks Bella, stepping on one of her feet and biting her wrist, infecting her with vampire venom. Edward sucks the venom out of Bella’s wrist to stop her from becoming a vampire. However, Edward struggles to suck the venom out of Bella’s wrists himself but is afraid he won’t be able to stop. After the battle, Bella’s leg is broken, and she is taken to the hospital. After Bella awakens, Edward offers to leave before she gets hurt again, but Bella insists on not giving up.

8. Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined (The Twilight Saga)-2016

* As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Stephenie Meyer wrote a story about a handsome vampire and an ordinary girl. Now she is writing it again but with the genders switched. She will show us Beau and Edythe instead of Bella and Edward.

The classic love story of “Twilight” is re-imagined from the male perspective.

When seventeen-year-old Beaufort “Beau” Stewart transfers to Forks High School in rainy Washington, he doesn’t expect much of anything out of the ordinary. He’s never been overly fond of routine or settling into new circumstances.

Edythe Cullen has always felt like an outsider – not quite fitting in with anyone or anything, including her family and her seventy-year-old self. She’s a natural-born vampire, but it’s only now that she has become romantically involved with a human – Beaufort Stewart – that she realizes there is someone out there who truly understands her and what she has always been.

This is a love story with a little bit of grittiness to it – Beau’s penchant for troublemaking will put him at odds with Edythe, but the two are also more alike than either would initially have guessed.

Funny and romantic, “Life and Death” is a modern retelling of Edward and Bella’s love story.

The characters are all the same, but Beau has more than a few tricks up his sleeve that Bella never saw coming.

9. Midnight Sun (The Twilight Saga)-2020

What does it mean to love someone mortal, and more importantly, what does it mean to be immortal?

In this final book in the Twilight Saga, Stephenie Meyer ultimately puts all the pieces together and reveals her vision in an exhilarating rush. Midnight Sun gives us a whole new perspective on twilight that will surprise and delight fans of the series.

Midnight Sun includes many appearances by other members of the Twilight universe, including Jacob Black, Bella’s werewolf friend, and Alice Cullen, Edward’s sister. New characters are also introduced, including Angela Weber, a human friend of Bella’s with extraordinary gifts.

With the same characters and setting of Twilight, but told from Edward’s point of view, the main character in the twilight saga. This book explains how much Edward loves Bella and how hard of a struggle for him to be with her all of the time.

It answers questions that may have been left unanswered in the series Twilight because you only saw what was happening from Bella’s point of view. For example, why did Edward look so different from everyone else? Why didn’t anyone ever notice when he would go out at night? Well, this book answers those questions, and it shows you exactly what was going through Edwards’s head during the Twilight storyline and answers more questions that arise while reading Eclipse and New Moon.

This book makes it possible to sympathize with Edwards’s character and makes it easier to understand him as a person.
