Liz Pichon Books Overview
My Big Brother Boris
‘This is me, Little Croc, and this is my big brother, Boris. We live happily in a lovely part of the swamp .’ . or at least Little Croc and Boris did live happily in a lovely part of the swamp! Lately Boris has been spending more and more time with crocs his own age, looking very grumpy and playing loud music. Gone are the days when Little Croc and Boris would swim and play happily together. Little Croc now wonders whether Boris still loves him. Will things ever be the same again? A wickedly funny and uplifting story about the trials and tribulations of everyday family life.
The Very Ugly Bug
There once was a very ugly bug, with spotted legs, googly eyes and a horrible hairy back. She wonders why her friends have pretty small eyes, shiny green backs, or nice fluttery wings. The ugly bug thought that if she looked like her friends, then she would be more beautiful. So she made herself a disguise. But her new costume made her even tastier looking to the birds! When a bird swoops down to gobble up the disguised ugly bug, something strange happens The big scare made The Very Ugly Bug even uglier! So ugly in fact, that the bird was scared away. The ugly bug learns that just being herself is the best defense. Liz Pichon’s witty text and colorful artwork highlight this story about self acceptance.
Bored Bill
Bill the dog is bored. How bored? REALLY, REALLY bored. In fact, Bill is so bored that he can t even move. Mrs. Pickle, Bill’s owner, is never bored. Mrs. Pickle reads, gardens, cooks, cleans and is even a kung fu expert. But Bill won t have any of it. Mrs. Pickle tells him ‘Only boring dogs get bored’. One day Mrs. Pickle drags the unmoving Bill off for a walk and while they are walking a huge gust of wind lifts them both up and off their feet. Bill is spun up into the air and into SPACE! ‘At last’, he thinks, ‘no more boring walks for me. Space will be REALLY exciting.’ But what happens when Bill lands on a planet and meets the aliens who are BORED? It s up to Bill to bring their boredom to a stop and while doing so he learns a few lessons himself on how exciting life can be!
A Tale Of Two Kitties
Fluffy and Scruffy were neighbours, but they were certainly ‘Not’ friends. Not, that is, until an army of mice drives them both to distraction, and they have to join forces to pit their wits against their rodent rivals.
Penguins
Penguins do the same thing every day. They swim, eat fish, sleep standing up, look at people, and look at more people. It’s an ordinary day at the zoo until a little girl drops something into the penguin pen…

‘What is it?’ asks one penguin.
‘It’s a camera,’ says the little penguin.
‘What do you do with a camera?’ they ask.
‘You smile at it!’ The little penguin grins.
So begins a charming adventure for the Penguins at the zoo. This adorable story is full of hilarious moments and sweet illustrations as the Penguins ham it up for the camera! See what develops from the fun…

The Three Horrid Little Pigs
What happens when the three little pigs are so horrid they even drive their own mother crazy? She sends them away to make their own homes. The first little pig steals straw from the cows in the field to build his house and the second little pig takes the twigs from the birds to build his house. The third little pig is so lazy he just moves into a chicken coop and now the hens have nowhere to go. When each of the little pigs finds themselves without sturdy homes of their own along comes the big, friendly wolf who just happens to be a builder to help The Three Horrid Little Pigs see the error of their ways!
