He is best known for his book, The Gold Coast, which tells the story of an attorney who moves to Long Island to start a new life. However, he soon discovers that the town is filled with corruption and murder.

Many of DeMille’s books are based in Long Island, where he grew up. His novels often explore the dark side of human nature and how it can lead to terrible consequences.

  1. Just finished “Night Fall.” Close to a true story. Just thinking that 3 yrs. earlier than TWA 800 an attempt to blow the world trade center was made. Five yrs. later (very clever of deMille’s son) TWA 800 was shot down just before the late take-off of an El Al flight.
