Charles Lindbergh made the first solo nonstop trans-Atlantic fight! All the world is excited! Airplanes are no longer impractical, dangerous contraptions; they can safely take us across entire oceans. People in America and Europe are all "air minded," excited about the promise of this wonderful new technology. Young boys were probably the most ardent admirers of Lindberg's exploit. With an introduction, young people (in those days, mostly boys) can share in the excitement in the tremendous progress in aviation since the Wright brothers made their first flight at Kitty Hawk.
