Anna Wilson Books Overview

Best Friends

When a new glamorous and graceful fairy ballerina called Bella Glove arrives at the Royal Academy of Fairy Ballet, everybody wants to be her friend. Nina and Peri can’t believe their luck when they’re asked to share their room with the special visitor! Better still for Nina, Bella wants to be in a pair with her. But, what about poor Peri?

Show Time

Nina Dewdrop and her two best friends have been asked to organise a ballet show at Queen Camellia’s Fairy Palace. They must set the stage, choose the decorations for the after show party and practise their parts. But when magical mayhem disrupts rehearsals Nina’s sure someone is sabotaging the show. Will it be all right on the fairies’ big night?

Double Trouble

Nina is now in her second year at the Royal Academy and she has been chosen as one of the mentors to the First Year students. Angelica Nightshade, Nina’s mentor, was a horror. So Nina is determined to be extra lovely to the new girls. Then she’s given Angelica’s awful sister to look after!

Flying Colours

Nina has never been so excited! It’s the summer holidays and her mum is taking her to the Festival for the Fairy Arts and Peri and Bella are coming too! From fairy musicians to fairy painters and of course, fairy ballerinas, the most talented fairies in fairyland join together for a spectacular celebration. There’s a competition too and Nina is determined that she and her friends will win with their ballet performance. But then Peri decides to compete with the fairy actors instead…

Dream Treat

It’s the end of the second year, and the fairies are taken to a performance of The Nutcracker. At the Royal Fairy Opera House, Nina sees Princess Coriander, and is delighted to learn that her royal friend has won a place at the Academy for the following year, and wants Nina to mentor her! There’s another surprise in store, as Peri has an announcement of her own to make…

Party Magic

Nina’s favourite ballet teacher, Miss Tremula, is set to retire on her one hundredth birthday. Nina is excited about learning a new dance routine for the celebration party, but sad to say goodbye to Miss Tremula – especially when her strict replacement teacher arrives at the Academy!

Glitter Club

When Bella and her friends read about the new Glitter Club in their favourite magazine, ‘Glitter Girl’, they all want to join. They can wait to start working for their Gems and are excited to discover that they can use their ballet skills to earn the ‘Performer Gem’. As half term is coming up, Bella decides it’s the perfect opportunity to hold a sleepover and obtain her ‘Hostess Gem’. But once back at home it doesn’t seem like such a good idea at all, and Bella starts to misbehave…

Star Turn

When Madame announces that boys will be coming to visit The Royal Academy of Fairy Ballet Nina and her friends are horrified! But Nina soon changes her mind when she discovers that one of the boys, Star, is very funny and a fantastic dancer. Unfortunately Bella and the other Fairy Ballerina’s are not so convinced.

Puppy Love

In my life I have wished a million thousand times for a puppy, so was officially over the moon when I finally obtained Parental Consent to get Honey the most absolutely softest and velvetest Golden Labrador you have ever imagined. Since she moved in we have had some extremely funny adventures while dealing with my weird sister April’s frankly unfortunate love crush on Honey’s vet. It has all been rather manic but luckily I am an expert in De Fusing the Tension and Staying Ahead of the Game when it comes to this sort of situation, as you will see. This is the first book in a precisely charming new series about me and Honey.

Pup Idol

I hope everyone out there will know by now about how I, Summer Holly Love, finally persuaded my mum to let me have a wonderful golden Labrador puppy of my own named Honey. If you are not aware of this, you can read all about it in ‘Puppy Love’, a fascinating and frankly gripping account of the said event. Anyway, things have moved on since those early days of dog ownership. Honey went through a bit of a difficult phase recently, developing a taste for shoes mainly flip flops and terrorising dinner guests. So, to help her through her awkward adolescence, I dutifully and brilliantly trained her at obedience class and in the garden. And, hurrah! Honey’s amazing talents shone through just in time for our school talent content, where we performed our ‘Pup Idol‘ star act and became famous celebrities in our own right!

Hatching Stones

A novel that examines cloning as a route to male supremacy with a story moving from the tall blonde look a likes to the many gendered, multi coloured populations of the Southern hemisphere and, finally, on to the women banished to Antarctica.

Over in the Grasslands

‘This cheery counting book features animals of Africa and their babies, including rhinos munching, hippos swimming, bees buzzing, and finally, monkeys sleeping. Follow the whimsical rhymes and vibrant illustrations as young readers count their way from one to ten on a safari like adventure. Over in the Grasslands is a delightful way to help beginners count while they explore the wildlife of the African plain. A colorful two page review of the numbers learned, along with drawings of the animals counted, is also included.’
