Laura Hickman Books Overview

Mystic Warrior

New York Times bestselling master of fantasy Tracy Hickman and his wife, author Laura Hickman, offer the first book in a major, new, dragon laden epic fantasy. The Bronze Canticles is an expansive new saga chronicling the world altering changes that take place as three connected universes the Human world, the Goblin world, and the Faery world are slowly drawn together. In Book One, young Galen Arvad, a human with magical powers, must avoid the ritual that puts those with such talents to death. It seems that in the eyes of the community magic is a sign of lunacy, and in a yearly ritual the local ‘crazies’ are offered up to the Dragon Priests. Having successfully dodged the ‘elections’ for many years, Galen is suddenly captured and hauled away with others that are deemed ‘insane.’ Now, as Galen’s wife, Berkita, and his friend, Cephas the dwarf, set off to rescue him, Galen learns of the fate that awaits him…
a fate far worse than even his own death.

Mystic Quest

Thrice upon a time, three worlds were in peril. Twenty three years have passed since Galen Arvad first exposed the deep magic. Now that magic brings tragedy and darkness to the lives of all who wield it in the world. Galen and his clans suffer an endless war in the realm of the dragonkings, the fairies contend with a gruesome kingdom of the undead, and in the realm of the reanimated, rusting titans, a tyrant goblin’s lust for conquest goes unchecked. A new generation of heroes will set out on separate, life altering journeys. Whether in search of freedom or atonement, each will find their redemption may be beyond the power of magic for their darkest secrets and greatest dangers are those they bring with them.

Mystic Empire

Eighty Years have passed since the Mystics founded Calsandria, and now their nation is mired in politics and bloodlines. A woman with no magic, Theona Conlan leads the desperate search for the missing Prince of House Arvad. In the faery realm, Dwynwyn learns that slave creatures are mastering a magic that threatens the fragile peace between the faeries and their enemies. And while the goblin Lunid builds a device to reach across worlds, her masters plot to use it for their own dark ends. But unknown to them all, the gates between realities are about to burst open and plunge humans, faeries, and goblins into a war that can be won only with an undiscovered magic…
One that will unite or destroy three worlds.

Serenity Out in the Black

There are lots of stories about the final days of the Unification War. Some tell about lost treasures of uncountable wealth. Some tell of curses and damnation. Others still tell of mutiny, treachery, and pirates. But only one legend combines them all, a story that leads to Frisco the most dangerous, lawless mining town in the ‘Verse. Here it will take fast thinking, careful diplomacy, and a steady gun hand to walk away breathin’. Everyone in the town has an agenda, even the little red headed school marm who seems awfully familiar…
Out in the Black is an adventure for the Serenity Role Playing Game sold separately. Authors Tracy Laura Hickman drew on the actual history, tales, and legends of a real silver mining town in the American West told to Tracy by his father and grandparents from when he was a child as the foundation for many of the events and locations in this new adventure set in Joss Whedon’s incredible ‘Verse. Maps based on the actual maps of the original town and mine. Separate ‘Frisco’ town section for use of the town as a campaign setting beyond the adventure. Extensive footnotes regarding the historical sources for game events!
