initial (ca. 7,5 x 7 cm.) with view of the Breda Martinuskerk, a coat of arms and a dove, decorative borders skilfully illuminated or handpainted in the style of medieval manuscripts (ca.5 and 7,5 cm. wide), consisting of flowering plants, butterflies, birds, executed in colours and gold, signed in paint by "Bernadette" and dated "juni '90" (1990), framed behind glass in original carved oak frame, with 3 extending crosseson top, total size 98 x 61 cm. (visible vellum leaf measures 61 x 45 cm.). = Beautiful and one-of-a-kind theological-historical piece expertly done in modern 'medieval' mastership. The text translates as follows: "On the Solemnity of Saint John the Baptist in the Year of Our Lord 1990, I, Rud Smit, Pastor of the Parish St. Martinus in Princenhage - Breda, consecrated in a special Three-Choir Service on June 25, Chalice and Pateen for Raymond-Jan Schouteten who served as an intern and Deacon in our Parish." Raymond Schouteten (d.2017) was piriest of the Diocese Breda. Vellum a bit wrinkled.
