The present edition is a translation of part of his Historia (or Chronica) Major including the "Continuation of Matthew Paris" chronicling the years 1259-1273. This supplemental work is attributed to William Rishanger, also a monk of St. Alban's. The earlier part of the Historia (from Creation to 1235) whch is not included here was largely a transcription of Roger of Wendover's Flores Historiarum and was previously published by Bohn's Library as "Roger Wendover's Flowers of History." 1854.
