But alot of back ground ingo is given in these times of "self awareness" parts. The how why and cause of each persons actions and reactions to the world before them. That is why I gave thes book a 4 star rating its good but gets bogged down in places.

    I enjoy the apocalyptic genre but this series is better than just exciting fiction—it informs and explains and encourages the reader to think realistically, yet creatively about the many possible ways we must be ready when the SHTF. I like the different personalities, ages and preppier abilities written out...anyone can find a character to relate with and use that to rethink your beliefs, prejudices careless behaviors. Most of all, it has brought me hope that even in terrible circumstances there are ways to be prepared and even wise as we work (or not) together.

    Didn't know what to expect from this book.But it just keeps getting better,or worse if look at from the standpoint of the story line.
    Mad I didn't download the next instalment, have to wait till I get home for that. Damn it.
    Great stuff ,love all the characters,even if it is a little unbelievable that a whole family and their neighbours are that well prepared.Then again,why the hell not.
