Phoebe desperately needs this degree and the money it will bring. What she doesn’t need is this stubborn farmer’s attitude and his pathological need to avoid her. She’s trapped in this tiny hippie town, trying every trick in the book to get the stalwart John to open up. Her future is on the line. Her family needs her. And she’s not going to let a stubborn farmer stand in her way.

    I sit here bawling at the end of this book wondering what's next. It was lovely learning the beginning story of John and Phoebe and after John's death that she found Franklin plus the love of Blue Moon Bend, a town that's a character of its own. I highly recommend this book as well as all the book in the series thus far and I'm hoping that it's not ending.

    I knew it was coming and I know it’s fiction and yet I still sobbed.. sobbed. And I’m not a crier! What a beautiful story and a beautiful love. So tragic.     I love this series, the stories have been for the most part fun and easy but this book was different. Technically a prequel to the rest of the series, this book tells the heartwarming and heartbreaking love story of the family matriarch . Even knowing what the future held for this couple, the ending of this book absolutely gutted me. The author's description of Phoebe's thoughts and feelings at the end of her and John's love story has me completely choked up.
