    Overall I thought this was quite well done. The perspective changes from one sister to another, but there is very little repetition, so the story keeps moving. I enjoyed all of the sister's personalities and was happy that this was NOT a charmed ones revisit, very different as a matter of fact. I'll be happily reading the next in this series.

    This story centers on triplet sisters “born five years apart”: Quinn, a social worker; Harvest Moon, a state constable; and Echo, a candlemaker. Their mother being absent, and their father being really absent, they were raised by a grandmother and great aunt. The sisters are drawn back together when Quinn moves home to take a promotion with the department of social services in their small Pennsylvania town. A serial murder case is reopened, a shirt-tail young cousin is discovered covered in bruises, and the town is starting to go wacky. They will have to learn things about themselves, their family, and their town as they try to solve the cases.

    This book does require a suspension of disbelief – triplet sisters born five years apart, come on … But the characters are surprisingly well-developed, the various mysteries interesting, and the magic mostly plausible. OK, there’s a creepy horned goatlike thing that hangs out in a cemetery and begrudgingly helps the sisters, but at least he (it?) had a sense of humor. I enjoyed learning about the family candle-making business and watching as the sisters learned of their magical powers.

    This was a great book for the gym, or relaxing with a tall glass of ice tea on a quiet day. It held my interest all the way through (and the parts that were too “woo-woo” I just paged by) to the surprise ending. I would read more in this series.
