- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2007Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseTimothy Zahn is best known for his Star Wars books. He has written other Science Fiction books. My favorite Timothy Zahn story is "Pawn's Gambit" published in Analog in 1982. It was a Hugo nominee and was republished in Distant Friends and Others.
The Blackcollar stories were in a universe where humans were conquered by the Ryqril. Once conquered it is hard for humans to rebel. The Ryqril were able to develop a drug which turns humans into slaves. The Judas Solution is the third in the series.
The heroes in the story are Blackcollars, men who have been given a special drug which makes them excellent fighters. Their reflexes are twice as fast as the average human. They also have extensive training. There is a lot of martial arts fighting.
In The Judas Solution the heroes travel back to Earth and to Khala. On Earth the Blackcollars are trying to strengthen the resistance. They have a drug which counteracts the Ryqril slave drug. But the resistance has stayed very passive. It takes some time before the Blackcollars understand why the resistance hasn't done more. On Khala the Blackcollars are trying to destroy a Ryqril complex, but the Blackcollars have their own hidden agendas.
The Judas Solution is the third book in the series. It could be the conclusion, but it does open up new plot lines. If you enjoyed the earlier Blackcollar stories, this is worth reading. If you haven't read the first two, my suggestion is you read the earlier two books before reading this one.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the last book in Author Zahn’s Blackcollar series, as with the previous two it is an excellent read. Since this was written in 2006 I don’t expect an addition to the series, but one would be appreciated. Author Zahn’s well defined characters and complex plot keep the reader’s interest throughout the book.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTimothy Zahn is one of my favorite SF authors his work with the Star Wars expanded universe is some of his best work, the Blackcollar series is a enjoyable read but the lack of total character development is a little disappointing, I would have like to know more of back stories on most of his characters but doesn't take away from the overall story I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's better than the conquers series. He still is my favorite authors some of his books are hard to find though, if you're prefer the hard covers editions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect conclusion!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI liked the first two books of the series...but this one was so much better! There's a lot of action going on and, while you expect plot twists all along the story, how they come along is what makes it interesting and it keeps the story going forward. Did I mention fast paced? This is a real page turner!
All in all, I really recommend this book (and the first two).

3.0 out of 5 stars Lauwarmer Abschluss einer netten Haudrauf-Serie

4.0 out of 5 stars A good conclusion to a good series.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA good conclusion, perhaps wrapping things up a bit too neatly but I'd recommend the series. Numbers 2 and 3 build each one on its predecessor so not to be read out of order. I've seen other reviewers complain about quality control issues with Kindle editions but I found no problems with this one, and I'm a very careful reader.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA fitting end to a good series. Perhaps a little rushed in the conclusion but enjoyable and satisfying read.
