Love in the Moon (Bantam Romance #138) Paperback – May 1, 1981

4.8 out of 5 stars 5 ratings

"You are mine, Caneda, and I want you! I want you now!"
As he finished speaking his lips were on hers and he was kissing her. Now there was a fire on his lips that was like nothing Caneda had ever imagined, and yet although it was so fierce and so demanding, she felt herself unaccountably responding to it. He kissed her until she was breathless, until she felt as if the room spun dizzily round her, and it would be impossible for her to stand unsupported on her feet.
Then he said, and his voice was hoarse and passionate: "I want you! God, how I want you! Go and get into my bed, my darling. There is no reason for us to wait any longer."

My sister-in-law loves any book by Barbara Cartland and they are becoming hard to find. It was received timely, and I know my sister is going to be thrilled that I found another one.

A typical later book by Barbara, it is a little better than average. Pick an earlier publishing if this was to be your first Cartland. Still it is good enough to consider for your library.

Books like this made me spend a fortune in BC novels! I started looking for I-am-rich-and-pretend-to-be-a-gaiety-girl-to-teach-a-lesson novels after I read "Castle made for love", and I gotta say it wasn't easy to find them! Most of the I-am-not-what-you-think-I-am books are about poor and lovely heroines that are proposed to become mistresses by the Earl/Marquis/Duke/whatevers and they are horrofied at the thought. But this one is different. Our lovely Caneda wanted him to think her a circus performer. She wanted to be mistaken. And then she ran away, after she fall in love, afraid of her own feelings because she knows he is a married man!

Here is what you find in the back of the book:

You are mine, Caneda, and I want you!

What he meant, by the way, had nothing to do with getting married. ZAZ! My heart leapt a couple of times while reading this one. And I'm no longer a 12 year-old girl!!
